Eagle Basketball Teams Dominate First Home Games

     The Eisenhower Eagles beat down the Altus Bulldogs at the first home basketball games of the season, Dec. 14, 2021, in front of an enthusiastic crowd. Both Girls’ and Boys’ basketball teams delivered strong wins to welcome local fans.

     The Lady Eagles were victorious 70 to 30 against the Bulldogs. The Eagles started the game with a 3-pointer by Olivia Choney. The first quarter ended with a 14 to zero lead. At the end of the first half of the Girls’ game, the Bulldogs had managed a minor rally, to end the first half with an Eagles’ lead of 45 to seven. 

     The third quarter saw the gap between the teams narrow to an Eagles’ lead of 51 to 21, but the Lady Eagles managed to seal the victory decisively with a final score of 70 to 30.

     The Boys’ team took to the court against the Bulldogs next, only to have Altus take an early lead of two to three. But the Eagles rallied and ended the first quarter with a seven-point lead, 14 to seven.

     At the half, the Eagles were dominating the Bulldogs 34 over 13.

      The Eagles had a good run of scoring in the third quarter, to take a 54 to 24 lead. The fourth quarter saw a fast-paced game of constant turnovers between the two teams as they battled furiously to make buckets.

With less than two minutes remaining in the game, the score stood at 65 to 32, Eagles. After a final flurry of shots, the Eagles won the evening with an ending score 67 to 35 over the Bulldogs.
