EHS Teachers Maxson and Jones Honored

Sheila Maxson has been named EHS Teacher of the Year for 2021-2022. Maxson will go on to compete for the honor of being the Lawton Public Schools Teacher of the Year and Oklahoma Teacher of the Year.

The Teacher of the Year and First Class Teacher of the Year honors were announced during a pep rally Tuesday, Feb. 15. The Teacher of the Year for Eisenhower High School 2021-2022 is Sheila Maxson. The First Class Teacher of the Year – an honor given to an outstanding first-year teacher – is Kenneth Jones.

Both teachers will be officially recognized at an end-of-the-school-year ceremony by the school district before the end of the school year. The LPS Teacher of the Year will also be announced at that ceremony. The LPS Teacher of the Year will be chosen from the Teachers of the Year from each school in the district. The district Teacher of the Year will compete for Oklahoma Teacher of the Year.

 

Kenneth Jones, Eisenhower High School social studies teacher, was honored as the EHS First Class Teacher of the Year during a pep rally Tuesday, Feb. 15. The First Class Teacher of the Year award is given to an outstanding first-year teacher at each school in the district. (Staff)
